What is OTR Rim?

OTR Rim (Off-The-Road Rim) is a rim specially designed for off-road use, mainly used to install OTR tires. These rims are used to support and fix tires, and provide structural support and reliable performance for heavy equipment working under extreme working conditions.
Main features and functions of OTR Rim

1. Structural design:
Single-piece rim: It is composed of a whole body, with high strength, but it is slightly complicated to replace tires. Single-piece rims are most suitable for vehicles and equipment that do not need to change tires frequently and have relatively small or medium loads, such as: light to medium-sized construction machinery, agricultural machinery, forklifts and some light mining vehicles and equipment.
Multi-piece rims: Including two-piece, three-piece and even five-piece rims, which are composed of multiple parts, such as rims, lock rings, movable seat rings and retaining rings. The multi-piece design makes it easier to install and remove tires, especially in situations where frequent tire changes are required.
2. Material:
Usually made of high-strength steel, heat-treated to increase strength and durability.
Alloys or other composite materials are sometimes used to reduce weight and improve fatigue resistance.
3. Surface treatment:
The surface is usually treated with anti-corrosion treatment, such as painting, powder coating or galvanizing, to improve corrosion resistance in harsh environments.
4. Load-bearing capacity:
Designed to withstand extremely high loads and pressures, suitable for heavy mining trucks, bulldozers, loaders, excavators and other equipment.
5. Size and matching:
The rim size needs to match the tire size, including diameter and width, such as 25×13 (25 inches in diameter and 13 inches in width).
